What I can do for you
Curious about how your business is using energy? I helped create HP's Energy Assessment Tool for energy analysis and reporting. Let's have a conversation about how to cut power consumption, curb energy costs, and increase equipment utilization at your enterprise data center. This is my passion—put it to good use.
What I do for HP
I head up our energy and environmental initiatives, so I'm responsible for research, development, and implementation of energy-efficient and environmentally responsible design strategies for data centers. I'm specifically focusing on the integration of power/cooling, information and communication technology systems (ICT), and operations and control software.
What I have learned
True energy efficiency can only be realized by taking a holistic look at the entire business technology enterprise. Once the traditional silos of IT and facilities come down, tremendous and synergistic energy savings opportunities begin to emerge.
Background
A mechanical engineer with expertise in building energy-use simulation, I've spent my career planning and designing HVAC systems for critical facilities. I've worked as a consultant for the U.S. Green Building Council, and right now I'm on a team that's developing a LEED standard for data centers. If you're in the field of Green IT or data center optimization, we've probably met. I'm constantly presenting at conferences—AFCOM, Data Center Dynamics, Sustainable Buildings Conference (Finland), and World Forum for Building Innovation (UK), just to name a few.
